QUESTIONS TO ASK A PIANO MOVER:

1. Are you insured?

Many people are under the assumption that if your in business you must have all the necessary insurances, but sadly this is not true. Some piano movers do not have sufficient insurance to cover your valuable piano or property. Ask for proof of insurance.

2. Do you only move pianos?

Most regular movers do not have all the required equipment and/or knowledge to move a piano.

3. How much experience do you have in piano moving?

It is important that you have years of experience in piano moving before you do it on your own. We have been moving pianos for over 24 years and we still run into new situations.

4. Do you use proper piano moving equipment when moving a grand piano?

Most piano movers in our area do not use grand boards when moving grand pianos. This is a huge mistake. If your piano has to go up or down steps it may be damaged without a grand board. If they don't use grand boards,  you shouldn't trust them with your delicate instrument. Sometimes a piano must be moved up a stairwell by using a grand cover. This cover is equipped with leather handles and assist the movers in carrying the piano. It is fitted to your piano and a must have item if you're a professional piano mover. There are also special dollies that are designed to go over all kinds of terrain. As well as dollies that protect your floors in case the dolly would accidentally roll off a pad when moving the piano in or out of the house.

5. Do you have references?

Don't be afraid to ask for references and check them. The best source of references are piano technicians.
